WKO & Pascal Schumacher – Minimal Vibes for Large Orchestra

The vibraphone, with pedal and vibrating motor, produces warm, lyrical to eerie sounds and was quickly discovered for film scenes. The WKO dedicates its 10th subscription concert to the »Underdog« of instruments and presents the German premiere of a work by Judd Greenstein, written for vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher, whose music blends tension and calm. The program is complemented by an overture by Louise Farrenc and Brahms’ powerful 2nd Symphony.
